Aristotle Tourism Web Site Among Tops
Oct. 22, 2007
By Nate Hinkel, Arkansas Business
Much has been written in the past yearabout Aristotle's recent move into the advertising and public relations realm to complement its foothold in the Web design, Internet and interactive market.
And now that it has brought PR veteran Amy Glover Bryant on board to head its public relations division, the firm is intent on blowing its own horn a little, and understandably so.
Aristotle got news last week that the Web site it built for the Arkansas Department of Parks & Tourism ranked No. 2 in the nation up against state tourism Internet efforts from all 50 states.
Hitwise, an online competitive intelligence service, conducted the study in September. Marla Johnson Norris, CEO at Aristotle, said the study revealed a telling statistic.
"Significantly, the only state that ranked ahead of us, Michigan with a 2006 population of more than 10 million, had 69.95 percent of their traffic coming from in-state residents," Norris said in a release. "Only 36.19 percent of Arkansas' traffic came from Arkansas residents with a 2006 population estimate of slightly less than 3 million. That's huge in that it translates directly in to bringing out-of-state visitors to Arkansas."
