Dothan CVB Website Goes Live
Apr. 22, 2008
With championship golf, countless museums, sports, entertainment and its unique quality of being known as the "Peanut Capital of the World," the city of Dothan, AL doesn't need much help when it comes to attracting visitors. However, the city did need an improved website to better express all the history, fun and adventure Dothan has to offer, as well as serve as a tool for the public to view upcoming events, find places to stay and eat, find things to do and request specific travel information.
The newly redesigned DothanALCVB.com
allows visitors to virtually search the city, whether searching for a weekend getaway to a charming bed and breakfast, or finding the date and location to the National Peanut Festival.
Along with a beautiful rotating flash header, the main page displays a continually rotating Calendar of Events. When the date of one of the eight displayed events passes, the Aristotle designed
calendar automatically removes the old event and replaces it with a new one. This feature keeps the main page fresh, as well as takes on the responsibility of constantly having to manually update the calendar.
Potential travelers now have the ability to request a visitor's guide
, submit a convention, meetings and reunions RFP
and view the Dothan newsletter — all features that were not previous available on the old Dothan CVB website. The request visitor's guide form not only emails the potential traveler's information to the appropriate department, it also stores the information in a database the CVB manages, enabling them to add or delete information as needed.
