It's "Time to Thaw" in South Carolia
Feb. 15, 2008
In an effort to draw Chicago-area residents looking for a warm winter escape to the “land of smiling faces,” Aristotle and the South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism launched TimetoThaw.com.
The new microsite’s Flash animation
is its most unique attribute. Upon arriving, visitors from chilly Chicago are met with what looks like a large block of ice, and a tempting, interactive flashing button reading “thaw.”
Once the button is selected, the ice begins to melt away, and the warm, sunny coastline of South Carolina appears.
From there, visitors can begin planning their Palmetto State Vacation. From vacation booking tools
, hot deals and free travel kits
to interactive videos
and a photo contest, the site truly engages visitors and offers a unique respite for the inevitably snowed-in residents of the Chicago metro.
Aristotle’s art, html and programming teams
are responsible for the concept and design of the website, and many other Aristotle employees instrumental in completing the project and contributed in some way, shape, form or fashion.
