Life's a Beach in South Carolina
Jan. 11, 2009
Aristotle's relationship with the South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism is almost as long as the state's beautiful sandy coastline.
So when the department needed a new microsite that would promote the wide, sandy beaches of the Palmetto State, Aristotle was up for the challenge.
The new South Carolina Beaches microsite
is consistent in design with past Aristotle-designed websites—Discover South Carolina
, South Carolina Dining
. South Carolina State Parks
—but that doesn't mean it doesn't have a personality all its own.
Visitors can find in-depth info on the cities and beaches of South Carolina’s eastern coast, as well as information on the area history, city attractions and interesting ‘did-you-know” facts. The site provides several other useful tools as well, including up-to-the-minute weather conditions, city maps and aerial views, a photo and video album and even interactive games such as Design Your Own Shecrab
and Design Your Own Sandcastle
But the new microsite is also impressive from a programming
standpoint. It is integrated with listings from South Carolina’s main site, DiscoverSouthCarolina.com, which enables visitors to see helpful links such as attractions, dining, lodging, events and hot deals. The SCPRT staff can even edit and update site content, banner ads and tracking information through the same central content management system
that Aristotle implemented for use with the other South Carolina suite of sites
