Where is the best place to put my Wi-Fi Router?
For the best Wi-Fi, place your "GigaSpire BLAST" router (the white box) in a central spot where it has a clear view of the main areas of your home or office. The more open the space around it, the better your signal will travel.
If your router has to be placed to one side of your location and the Wi-Fi doesn’t reach every room where you use the internet, you can request a Wi-Fi extender to help spread the signal farther.
Helpful tip:
Try not to put the router next to big appliances, behind a TV, or inside closets with electrical panels or fuse boxes. These can block or weaken the Wi-Fi signal and make your internet slower or spotty.
Does it matter how I position my Wi-Fi Router?
For best performance, be sure to place your "GigaSpire BLAST" Wi-Fi Router upright and in a central location.
What do the lights on my Wi-Fi Router mean while it’s booting up?
The LEDs on the corner of your "GigaSpire BLAST" Wi-Fi Router (white box) provide detailed status information during the power-up cycle:
- All 4 lights are off – Power is off
- All 4 lights are on – Booting up / Software Upgrade
- All 4 lights flashing red – Boot-up Failure
- 1st light is cyan – Connected to Internet
- All 4 lights are red – No Service / No Internet
How do I know my Wi-Fi Router has completed boot-up?
Boot-up on your "GigaSpire BLAST" Wi-Fi Router is complete when the LED light is solid blue, which indicates an active Internet connection.
A blinking red LED light is blinking red indicates that there is no service or Internet connection detected.
How do I pair devices, like my printer?
Pair new devices using the WPS button on the back of your "GigaSpire BLAST" Wi-Fi Router (white box). WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Set-up) makes it easier, faster and more secure to connect to other wireless devices.
If your device supports WPS, simply follow the instructions included with your device. Press the WPS button for less than 3 seconds on the back of the Wi-Fi Router when instructed.
What if I have more wired devices that I need to plug in?
There is only one LAN ethernet plug on the back of your "GigaSpire BLAST" Wi-Fi Router (white box). You can upgrade to our u6 Wi-Fi Router, which features more ports—or your can buy an inexpensive gigabit switch and plug that into your LAN port to allow multiple devices.
My wireless device says it cannot support a 5 GHz radio. What do I need to do?
The "GigaSpire BLAST" Wi-Fi Router (white box) supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radios. However, if you still find you have problems, contact Aristotle Tech Support for assistance.
How do I reboot my Wi-Fi Router (and keep my settings)?
Use either of the following methods to safely reboot your "GigaSpire BLAST" Wi-Fi Router (white box) without erasing your settings:
- Remove power from the Wi-Fi Router for 10 seconds, then restore power.
- Press the RESET button on the Wi-Fi Router for less than 3 seconds.
IMPORTANT: To avoid a service fee, make sure not to hold the reset button longer than 3 seconds. Pressing for longer than 3 seconds could erase your Wi-Fi Router to factory settings, requiring a service visit to restore your Internet service.)

How do I reset my Wi-Fi Router back to factory settings?
To apply a factory reset to your "GigaSpire BLAST" Wi-Fi Router (white box), press the RESET button on the back of the device for at least 10 seconds.
IMPORTANT: To avoid a service fee, only take this step if your Aristotle technician requests that you do so. You will lose Internet service, and a service visit will be required to restore service.
